Welcome to the “Create Your Own Life” blog. Here I will keep you posted on what we are doing/ or have done in the group so you can keep caught up and know what to look forward to.

This 15 week group is based on my workbook “Creating Your Own Environment -Making a space that sooths your soul.


We meet every Wednesday at 2:00 in Sound Mental Health’s North Auburn building.

Week 8

Week 8:

  • Mindfulness - with Rocks

Week 7:

Week 6

Week 6:

Week 5

week 5 we did:
  • Mindfullness - Writing a list of things you like about yourself
  • No Quote
  • Read and worked on pgs. 38 & 39
  • Worked on putting together healing baskets
  • Red Bucket questions

Week 4

Week 4 we did:

  • Mindfulness with calendar pictures

  • We read 34 & 35 on Healing your soul

  • We worked on pages 36 & 37 (what works to heal our souls)

Week 3

Week 3 we did : Mindfulness with playdoh (being aware of all senses)

  • We shared our safe places

  • We made collogues on posterboard of our safe places, or the essance of our safe places, with magazine pictures and sayings.

Group 2


  • We did mindfullness with gummy bears, experiencing them with all our senses.

Our quote was "Life is full of colors, some that shine on the outside, and some that dance in the heart."

  • We went over the Trust Agreement. (see Trust Agreement on the right side-bar)
  • We worked on pages 8-10b Creating our inner safe place.
  • Many used extra copies for a rough draft before filling in the book.
